Jets Are Helpless Against Bills

The New York Jets scored their first touchdown in 13 quarters on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills, but any additional highlights were few and far between.

The Jets fell behind early and dropped a 32-6 decision on the road in Orchard Park. The offense netted only 155 yards and starting quarterback Zach Wilson was yanked late in the third quarter in favor of backup Tim Boyle.

“I don’t think anyone did anything today: Players, coaches, schemes. It was obviously not good enough. None of it was good enough,” said Jets’ third-year head coach Robert Saleh.

Prior to the benching, Wilson went 7-of-15 passing for 81 yards. He suffered five sacks.

Boyle wasn’t any more effective than Wilson, totaling 33 pass yards on 14 attempts. As a team, including an 18-yard completion by punter Thomas Morstead, the Jets averaged 4.4 yards per pass for the game. Gang Green was successful on 0 of 11 third down attempts.

Giants QB Leads Team Over Commanders 31-19

Whenever the New York Giants and Washington Commanders face off, the Giants have a chance to win. In this game, the Giants rode six Washington turnovers and a great game from QB Tommy DeVito to a 31-19 victory.

Tommy DeVito slung the ball over the field, including three touchdown tosses and a host of big-time throws. What made his performance that much more impressive was the fact that DeVito was sacked nine times. Still, the 6-foot-2, 209-pound quarterback shook off the blows to post one of the most effective performances by a Giants passer this season.

The Giants utilized Saquon Barkley in the passing game more than they’ve done all season, with strong results. The running back caught four balls for 57 yards and two scores.

For Washington, Sam Howell went 31-for-45 for 245 yards with a passing score, a rushing touchdown, three interceptions, and a 62.7 passer rating.

The Giants are now 3-8. Washington is 4-7.
