Shock! Mets Win Four Straight!

The Mets kept the good train rolling on Sunday afternoon, as they finished off the series sweep of the Miami Marlins by a score of 10-1. The Mets, now winners of four straight ball games, sit at 26-33, six games out of a Wild Card spot.

The Mets offense was the star of the show today, as they scored ten runs vs Miami, who had to pivot to a bullpen game due to expected starter Janson Junk’s surprise trip to the injured list this morning. They treated opener John King rudely, as Carson Benge greeted him with his first career lead off home run. The offense did a great job of keeping up the pressure, as they scored runs in four different innings.

The biggest blast was a grand slam from Juan Soto in the sixth inning.

The Mets, who need to just stack wins and see what happens, will look to do so on the West Coast (again), as they fly to Seattle for a three-game series starting tomorrow.

Felix Rosenqvist Wins Indy 500 by Closest Margin in Race’s History

The ‘Greatest Spectacle in Racing’ continues to live up to its name up with some truly astonishing finishes over the years, while also having a race in 1913 where the margin of victory was over 13 minutes between first and second.

It’s should come as no surprise that in this increasingly competitive modern age with fields closer than they’ve ever been before, three of the five closest finishes in Indy 500 history have taken place in the last 12 years.

But this year marked the closest ever, besting a record that had stood for over three decades as Felix Rosenqvist charged from third to first on the final lap to win the Indianapolis 500.

Yankees Hit Two Homers, Hold on for 5-4 Win Over Blue Jays

Ryan McMahon and Ben Rice belted the blasts to defeat the Blue Jays, 5-4, at Yankee Stadium. It was another nervous ninth inning, but the Yankees prevailed.

With runners at second and third and a Toronto Blue Jays run already home, Camilo Doval got Kaz Okamoto to ground out to Anthony Volpe, sealing Tuesday night’s 5-4 win.

Doval was subbing as closer with both David Bednar and Fernando Cruz unavailable due to heavy workloads.

Ryan McMahon broke a personal 0-for-24 with a game-tying three-run homer off Dylan Cease in the fourth, setting up Ben Rice’s go-ahead, two-run homer in the fifth.

New York (30-19) has now won two games in a row and 2-0 on this current home trip.
