Mike Tyson Breaks Silence On Jake Paul Bout

Hall of Famer and former undisputed world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson broke his silence on his loss to social media influencer Jake Paul during an eight-round boxing exhibition as part of Netflix‘s live controversial streaming debut for the sport.

“This is one of those situations when you lost but still won. I’m grateful for the fight. No regrets to get in the ring one last time.”

“I almost died in June. Had 8 blood transfusions. Lost half my blood and 25lbs in the hospital and had to get healthy: so I won. To have my children see me stand toe to toe and finish 8 rounds with a talented fighter half my age in front of a packed Dallas Cowboy stadium is an experience that no man has the right to ask for.”

Jake Paul, 27, scored 80-72, 79-73, 79-73, over Tyson, 58, during the highly-anticipated event at AT&T Stadium. Fans were livid by the fight itself, which many online deemed to be boring and a cash-grab, as well as Netflix’s streaming issues throughout the night, with the service trending as many customers experienced buffering issues.

Tyson, the youngest boxer to ever win a heavyweight title and one of the most dominant ever in the weight class, went 50-6-2 (44 KO) in 58 career professional fights prior to the Netflix loss. Paul has a 10-1 record in 11 professional boxing matches.

NY Giants’ Woes Continue With 8th Straight Loss

The Giants dropped their eighth straight game on Sunday, losing to the New Orleans Saints, 14-11.

Drew Lock and the offense struggled for most of the day, but the defense kept the Giants in the game until the very end. Lock connected with Malik Nabers for a 22-yard catch to set the Giants up on the one-yard line, Tyrone Tracy punched it in, and Nabers caught the two-point conversion to make it a 14-11 game with 4:11 left.

The defense got another stop to get the ball back, but Lock threw an interception on 4th-and-nine. Yet again, New York’s defense forced a quick three-and-out to give Lock and the offense one more chance. The QB drove 56 yards in just over a minute to set up the game tying field goal, but Graham Gano‘s 35-yard attempt was blocked.

Lock finished the game 20-for-45 with 204 yards passing, one interception, and 59 yards rushing. Nabers had five receptions for 79 yards and Tracy ran for 45 yards with a TD.
