Boston Celtics Sold To New Owner For Record-Setting $6 Billion Dollars!

Symphony Technology Group managing partner Bill Chisholm has reportedly agreed to purchase the Boston Celtics from the Grousbeck family for a valuation for $6.1 billion, which is the largest sale of a North American sports franchise in history.

The sale surpasses the previous record set when a group led by billionaire Josh Harris purchased the NFL’s Washington Commanders for $6.05 billion in 2023.

The Grousbeck family made a massive profit off the sale, having initially purchased the Celtics for $360 million in 2002. The franchise is the winningest in NBA history with a league-best 3,684 regular season victories and 18 NBA championships, having entered the current 2024-25 season as defending world champions.

Steve Austin Praises ‘Epic Performer’ Pat McAfee

Steve Austin has given high praise to Pat McAfee, who has wrestled a few matches in WWE in addition to serving as a color commentator. 

After working a few matches in NXT, McAfee beat Austin Theory at WrestleMania 39. McAfee made a surprise appearance at WrestleMania 40 for a short match with The Miz.

McAfee is currently away from WWE as Wade Barrett started to fill in for McAfee as a color commentator on WWE SmackDown when the former NFL punter joined College Gameday last year. He recently signed a big money deal with ESPN. 

Airports Told To stop Overpriced Food And Drinks

Say goodbye to overpriced food and drinks at New York area airports! 

The Port Authority, which is the agency responsible for LaGuardia, JFK and Newark airport just released a new policy for vendors to stop over-pricing items. In the 35-page report it is made a rule that concession prices can’t be more than 10% higher than ‘street prices’ for the same or similar product. Vendors will also have to now offer lower priced menu items and they can let their customers know that they can complain about a possible over-charge on social media! 

“All airport customers should rightly expect that policies which limit the pricing of food and beverages at concessions will be followed and enforced,” said Kevin O’Toole, the chairman of the Port Authority, in an official statement. 

“And all airport customers and concessionaires should expect tough pro-active enforcement going forward now that these revised standards are in place.”

People have always complained about the prices inside airports, and a specific social media post went viral last year with a photo showing a list of beers around $28 each. The tweet led to the Office of the Inspector General to investigate.
