Commanders Beat Giants On 7 Field Goals

The New York Giants were defeated, 21-18, by the Washington Commanders at Northwest Stadium on Sunday.

The Giants fall to 0-2 in a hard-fought loss to the division rivals. New York felt the effects of an injury to Graham Gano as they were unable to convert any of their two-point conversions. With this loss, the Giants are now last in the NFC East.

Giants QB Daniel Jones, after a rough Week 1 went a respectable 16 of 28 for 178 yards and two touchdown passes, but it wasn’t enough.

On a positive note, Malik Nabers, their first-round pick in 2024 looked good yet again.

There were some rookie struggles as Nabers had two drops on the day, one of them being a game-losing drop coming on the last drive in the fourth quarter. However, outside of that, he looked nothing but exceptional.

The LSU product finished with 10 catches for 127 yards and a touchdown. He showcased all the reasons why he was the sixth overall pick as he was exceptional after the catch.

Aaron Rodgers Leads Jets Over Titans 24-17

The New York Jets took home their first win in 2024 against the Tennessee Titans in Week 2.

On both offense and defense, it was not pretty for the Jets (1-1) throughout the contest in Tennessee (0-2). The difference were a few big plays which led to the 24-17 final.

The Jets had plenty of penalty problems, particularly in the first half. On both sides of the ball, New York paid the price for those. At least in one department, the Jets were clearly better against the Titans: Takeaways.

Offensively, the Jets seem to have already figured out how to utilize running backs Breece Hall and Braelon Allen on offense. Hall (14 carries for 62 yards, seven catches for 52 yards and a touchdown) remains the lead back but the rookie Allen (seven carries for 33 yards,  two catches for 23 yards and a touchdown) is already solidly in the mix behind him. The two combined for 95 yards on 21 carries as the Jets were able to find success on the ground.

Aaron Rodgers completed 18-of-30 throwing for 176 yards and two touchdowns.

NY Mets Adjust Roster in Playoff Push

The Mets have made their decisions about who they will add as rosters expanded to 28 players on Sunday.

The team announced that they have recalled left-handed reliever Alex Young and selected infielder Pablo Reyes from Triple-A Syracuse.

Alex Young will bolster the Mets bullpen with a second left-handed reliever alongside Danny Young while Reyes offers another versatile option in the infield.

The Mets have put themselves in a position to push for a playoff spot. Following Saturday’s second straight win over the White Sox, the Mets improved to 72-64 and two games back of the final National League wild card spot. They are four games behind both the Padres and Diamondbacks for the top two wild card spots.
