The New York Giants scored a comeback 24-20 victory over Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens. 

Down 20-10 in the fourth quarter, the Giants scored 14 unanswered points to move ahead in crunch time. An interception set up the game-winning touchdown, and then rookie Kayvon Thibodeaux stripped Jackson on what could have been Baltimore’s game-winning possession.

Daniel Jones completed 19 of 27 passes for 173 yards and two touchdowns, one that went to rookie wideout Wan’Dale Robinson, and the other to rookie tight end Daniel Bellinger. Saquon Barkley didn’t dominate all game, but finished rushing for 83 yards and one touchdown. 

Jackson, on the other hand, completed 17 of 32 passes for 210 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Surprisingly, the offense was carried by running back Kenyan Drake, who rushed for 119 yards and one touchdown on 10 carries. Mark Andrews had a huge game, catching seven passes for 106 yards and one touchdown.

The New York Jets’ dominated Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers 27 – 10.

In the first half, neither team could get much going on offense. In the third quarter, the Jets put together a 74-yard drive highlighted by two Corey Davis catches that got the Jets down to the Packers 20-yard line. From there, Braxton Berrios ran it in for a 10-3 Jets lead.

Micheal Clemons blocked a Packers punt, and the Jets recovered and ran it in for a touchdown and a 17-3 lead late in the 3rd quarter.

The Packers answered with a 75-yard drive helped by two Jets penalties. A 25-yard Aaron Rodgers to Allen Lazard touchdown pass capped off the drive to bring the Packers within 7 points at 17-10 late in the 3rd quarter.

Early in the fourth quarter, Breece Hall broke free for a 34-yard touchdown run to give the Jets a 24-10 lead.

The Jets then put together an impressive drive to seal the victory. Running the ball on every play, the Jets chewed up clock and got the ball all the way down to the 1-yard line before settling for a short field goal and an all but insurmountable 27-10 lead with less than 3 minutes to play.

With the win the Jets go to 4-2 on the year and emphatically announce they have arrived.

MLB is using a 12-team playoff format for the first time in 2022, and eight teams are participating in the best-of-three Wild Card Series. Two teams have already advanced to the LDS: the Guardians and Mariners.

In the new Wild Card Series, the top two division winners in each league receive a bye to the Division Series, while the lowest-seeded division winner and three wild card teams will play in this round. A best-of-three series will take place, with the higher seed hosting all three games.

The best-of-three Wild Card Series will be played on three consecutive days. There is no off-day within the series. There are no off days between Games 4 and 5 of the LDS, or between Games 5 and 6 of the LCS.

MLB’s first-ever wild-card series weekend is in full swing. And three teams were sent packing Saturday. The playoff field expanded to 12 teams for the 2022 postseason, so four best-of-three series determine which teams move on to the division series.

The New York Jets moved to 3-2 with an impressive victory over the Miami Dolphins, 40-17. It was the Jets first win over an AFC East team in 13 tries.

Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was out this week with a concussion, and backup Teddy Bridgewater on the first play from scrimmage suffered an elbow injury along with a potential concussion and was ruled out for the remainder of the game due to the NFL’s new protocols. Seventh-round pick Skylar Thompson took over in his stead.

Jets QB Wilson completed 14-of-21 passes for 210 yards, and all five New York touchdowns came via the ground. Rookie running back Breece Hall was the star of the show, as he rushed for 97 yards and one touchdown. He also shined in the passing game, as he caught two passes for a total of 100 yards. Defensively, Jets rookie cornerback Sauce Gardner stood out. He recorded his first career interception, and made the hit that knocked Bridgewater out of the game. 

Thompson completed 19-of-33 passes for 166 yards and one interception in his first NFL action aside from preseason play. Raheem Mostert was someone who kept the Dolphins’ offense afloat, as he rushed for 113 yards and one touchdown. Tyreek Hill caught seven passes for 47 yards.

The Giants have shown remarkable grit and determination this season. They took that fighting spirit overseas to London and showed an international audience — and the Packers, from Green Bay, Wisc. — that this is a new and quite improved Giants operation.

The Giants trailed 17-3 in the second quarter and 20-10 at halftime against Aaron Rodgers and it looked as if this would not be a fruitful  trip across the pond for coach Brian Daboll’s club. What transpired in the second half was stunning. The Giants on defense pitched a shutout. Daniel Jones gutted out yards and points. Saquon Barkley was forced out with a shoulder injury and returned.

Barkley scored the game-winning touchdown with 6:08 remaining and then turned the game over to their largely no-name defense. Rodgers moved the Packers to the Giants’ 7 yard line but on fourth down his pass was deflected up and into the air by blitzing safety Xavier McKinney. The ball fell harmlessly to the grass at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with 1:11 remaining and soon after the Giants secured an improbable 27-22 comeback victory.

Barkley ran 13 times for 70 yards. Jones, playing despite a sprained left ankle, was incredibly resilient. He completed 21 of 27 passes for 217 yards and ran 10 times for 37 yards. The Giants limited the damage and Rodgers was held scoreless in the second half.

The Giants are 4-1. The Packers are 3-2.

New York Yankees slugger Aaron Judge hit his 62nd home run of the 2022 MLB season on Tuesday night, breaking the American League single-season home run record.

Judge hit a leadoff homer in the first inning of Yankees’ game against the Texas Rangers, giving New York a 1-0 lead in the second game of a doubleheader on Tuesday.

Last month, the 30-year-old tied the record set by Roger Maris in 1961 in the Yankees’ 8-3 win against the Toronto Blue Jays, having previously hit his 60th home run — which tied a previous record set by Babe Ruth in 1927 — during New York’s 9-8 walk-off win against the Pittsburgh Pirates on September 20 at Yankee Stadium.

Judge also managed to hit 60 home runs in fewer games than both Yankee legends, which has long been a debate over the validity of Maris’ record.

Ruth had initially set the record in 154 games, while Maris broke the  record in 162 games after the league had previously extended the total amount of games in a season.

Judge hit his 60th home run in 147 games and his 61st in 155 games.

New York Giants wide receiver Sterling Shepard will miss the remainder of the 2022 NFL season due to a torn ACL, head coach Brian Daboll announced during a press conference.

Shepard went down with a non-contact injury during the final minutes of the 23-16 loss to the division-rival Dallas Cowboys and had initial tests after the game.

Shepard is coming off an Achilles injury that took place midway through the 2021 season and had recorded 13 receptions for 154 yards and a touchdown in three games during the 2022 season.

The former Oklahoma standout was selected by the Giants at No. 40 overall in the second-round of the 2016 NFL Draft.

Shepard currently has 362 career receptions for 4,038 yards and 22  touchdowns, as well as 23 rushing attempts for 180 yards and one touchdown during his seven-year NFL career.

The Jets beat the Steelers 24-20 at Acrisure Stadium, erasing a 10-point fourth-quarter deficit for their second win of the season and second win ever in this city.

It was far from a perfect performance from Zach Wilson in his season debut, but he delivered when the Jets needed him to in the fourth quarter.

Rookie running back Breece Hall scored the game-winning touchdown, a 2-yard plunge with 16 seconds left. It initially looked like Hall fumbled the ball, but a replay showed he crossed the goal line before losing it.

The touchdown capped an 11-play, 65-yard drive that started when Jets cornerback Michael Carter II intercepted Steelers rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett on a tipped pass at the Jets’ 35 with 3:34 left.

It felt like the Jets were dead when the Steelers took a 20-10 lead with 13:36 left in the game on Pickett’s second rushing touchdown. The Steelers replaced Mitch Trubisky with Pickett to start the second half and he gave the Steelers a jolt of energy.

Wilson completed 19 of 37 passes for 252 yards with one passing touchdown, one receiving touchdown and two interceptions.

The Jets move to 2-2 this season, having pulled off two dramatic comebacks. This was not quite as miraculous as the win in Cleveland, but it was every bit as impressive.

The New York Giants improved to 3-1 on Sunday with a ground-and-pound style 20-12 victory over the Chicago Bears (2-2).

The Giants saw both quarterbacks, Daniel Jones (ankle) and Tyrod Taylor (concussion), injured during the second half. That led to Saquon Barkley taking a few Wildcat snaps in the fourth quarter. Jones, obviously limited, played the final couple of series. He was limited to handing off or lining up as a wide receiver while Barkley played quarterback.

Leading 20-12, the Giants salted the game away when Gary Brightwell recovered a muffed punt by Velus Jones Jr. of the Bears at the Chicago 37-yard line with 2:01 to play. The Giants hung on despite Graham Gano missing a 37-yard field goal with :17 left.

The Giants ran for 262 yards. Saquon Barkley had 31 carries for 146 yards. That’s Barkley’s 14th career 100-yard rushing game. Jones had 6 carries for 68 yards, including touchdown runs of 21 and 8 yards. Jones passed for only 71 yards, completing 8 of 13.
