Ex-New York Knick Signs $60 Million Contract With Indiana Pacers

Obi Toppin is staying in Indianapolis.

A year after being traded by the Knicks, the forward is re-signing with the Pacers on a four-year, $60 million contract.

The 26-year-old, whom the Knicks took No. 8 overall out of Dayton in the 2020 NBA Draft, made waves with his high-flying dunks during his three years at the Garden, but he was stuck playing limited minutes behind Julius Randle.

Still mostly coming off the bench for the Pacers, he carved out a bigger role with 21 minutes a game and set career highs with 10.3 points per game, 3.9 rebounds, field-goal percentage (57.3) and 3-point percentage (40.3).

He averaged 9.9 points and 3.3 rebounds during the Pacers seven-game second-round win against the Knicks.

For the postseason, which ended with a conference final sweep at the hands of the eventual-champion Celtics, Toppin averaged 10.9 points and 4.4 rebounds a game while shooting 54.1 percent from the field.

New Dr Pepper Float Flavored Ice Cream

Two Texas-based companies have teamed up to create a delicious new flavor of ice cream. Dr Pepper and Blue Bell Creameries have unveiled their latest creation, the Dr Pepper Float.

The new flavor is a combination of Blue Bell’s vanilla ice cream swirled together with a Dr Pepper sherbert.

“Our Texas heritage is so important to us at Dr Pepper, and we are excited to team up with fellow Texas-born brand, Blue Bell, to create this new delicious treat,” John Alvarado, of Dr Pepper Brand Marketing, said. “We can’t wait to provide our fans with another refreshing way to enjoy Dr Pepper.”

The new ice cream will be available in 23 states at stores where Blue Bell ice cream is sold.

“The best ice cream floats are made with Dr Pepper poured over a few scoops of Blue Bell,” said Jimmy Lawhorn, Blue Bell Vice President.

Mets Seize Bragging Rights After Commanding Subway Sweep

The Mets humiliated the Yankees, 12-3, Wednesday night in the series finale between the two teams in The Bronx to secure just the second Subway Series sweep in club history. Francisco Lindor hit two of the Mets’ five home runs, and Pete AlonsoTyrone Taylor and Mark Vientos mashed one apiece.

The Mets went 4-0 against their city rivals this year, the first time they swept the Yanks in a season series since they won all four games against them in 2013. This season, the Mets outscored the Yankees, 36-14.

Overall, the Mets are 66-80 against the Yankees in the regular season. If you add in other games – the 2000 World Series, spring training, the old Mayor’s Trophy Game, et cetera, the Mets are 114-150-2 all-time against the Yanks.

An announced crowd of 48,760 was at the game, the highest-paid attendance at Yankee Stadium this season.
